MTN Nigeria and Ultima Studios have officially launched Season 2 of Next Afrobeats Star, Nigeria’s high-profile music talent competition, with a significantly upgraded grand prize.
The winner of the new season will receive a ₦225 million recording deal — up from ₦150 million in Season 1 — plus a brand-new Mercedes-Benz SUV. Auditions will take place in Lagos, Enugu, Jos and Benin, giving emerging artists from across the country a chance to compete.
Contestants will be required to create original music from scratch under the guidance of top producers, continuing the format that launched Season 1 winner Ayo Benzi. Organisers emphasised that the platform is designed not only to discover talent but to develop it into industry-ready artists capable of competing on the global stage.
Entries are now open via text and the official Next Afrobeats Star website. The increased prize package signals growing confidence in the show’s ability to identify and propel the next generation of Afrobeats stars.
